About Us

I Care Enough International Ministries is a front line mission orgnization, which "Serves the unserved...Aids the Persecuted Church...Brings Light to the Lost..." in an area of the world called the 10/40 Window.

ICE began in 1985 when Dr. Kenneth Rooks felt the call of God to world missions.

ICE has a strong belief that medical and humanitarian assistance will provide opportunities to share the love of Christ in otherwise closed areas of the world. Early in the life of ICE, it became clear that training others to serve would increase our efforts in missions. In order to train and equip individuals, Riverbend International Christian College was organized offering classes in backpack medical missions, missiology, and disaster relief training.

ICE has existing works including healthcare, training nationals, and church planting in three different regions of the world.

ICE is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization which serves as a sending agency for both short and full time missionaries.

How We Serve

ICE International Ministries is divided into three major sections: medical, humanitarian, and evangelism. These divisions are provided in order to simplify the work and allow people to find the area of service they feel God has called them to.

Humanitarian

This division has a priority to display the Kingdom of God to a lost world through the labor of love. This may be done through providing temporary shelter for earthquake victims, providing blankets, clothing, and food to those in refugee camps.. A vast majority of the unreached world has been taught that Christians, especially Americans, are evil, immoral, and are the cause of the world's problems. For this reason, many people will not listen to a presentation of the gospel. Keep in mind that it is also illegal in many countries to distrubute religious material or to share the gospel. Therefore, assisting during a crisis will not only show the love of Christ through action, but will allow our team members oppurtunities to build relationships, friendships, and share the gospel. Clearly speaking, our actions speak louder than words.

Medical

We at I.C.E. feel that it is important for the reader to be informed of the health care crisis that exists around the world in order to understand the challenge and opportunities the medical teams face on the field. As citizens of the United States and Canada, we are privileged to have the highest quality of health care in the industrial nations. The standards and pratices of our health system are decades ahead of most other countries.

The level of health care in third world countries is often weak, if not non-existent. Once a national disaster strikes, the already weak system is often depleted and eliminated. The inability to control disease and injury creates a horrendous cycle that leads to epidemics. Often the slightest health problem becomes a death sentence. I.C.E. International Ministries realized several years ago that providing health care to the unserved world is a tool to share the gospel with the masses as well as provide relief for many who are suffering. We are deeply moved and blessed when we see the level of commitment made by our healthcare team as they lay aside prestige and professionalism in order to serve the unserved in the remote areas of the world.

Evangelism

Whether from door to door, hut to hut, through open air preaching, market place crusades, hospitals, prisons, schools, or out reach programs, the heartbeat of I.C.E. is to reach the lost with the light of the gospel. The methods we use vary in each country. For example, in a country where it is illegal to openly witness, we share the gospel with each person that attends a medical clinic. Handing out literature, tracts, and cassettes in the local native languages is also effective. Evangelism is accomplished through the development of Bible Institutes, church workshops, and even small cell groups in the unreached areas of the world.

Where We Serve

Most of the people groups still unreached by the gospel live in an area stretching across northern Africa and Asia. This area has become known as the 10/40 Window. Of the 55 most unevangelized countries, 97% of their population lives in the 10/40 Window. Under current conditions, most of these unreached peoples have no chance of hearing the Gospel even once. Currently we serve in Northern Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East.
